Weaverse’s Future Without A Kickstarter

As some of you may have noticed, we held a Kickstarter for our upcoming sci-fi FPS title Weaverse by Yellow Cat-Rabbit and it failed to get funded. The goal of the Kickstarter was to provide voice actors for the characters in the game, expand the maps, add multiplayer, and more. So, without the Kickstarter, what can players expect from Weaverse on launch?

Well, the good news is that we have found a handful of talented voice actors who volunteered to play a role in the game and ended up having every position covered. Honestly, it wasn’t easy, but we are excited to have an actual voice cast to provide a more immersive game even without the aid of a successful crowdfunding campaign.

The bad news, on the other hand, is that there will be no multiplayer, gun upgrade system (outside of puzzle related elements), nor map expansions. This will make the game roughly 30 to 45 minutes shorter than we were hoping for, but still enjoyable nonetheless. There is always the extra Game Mode that can always be improved on and a True Ending to unlock, given you don’t manage to unlock it in your initial run.

So, is it really a bad thing that the Kickstarter failed? Ultimately, no. While it is unfortunate that we aren’t able to include aspects that we are sure many would have enjoyed, such as a co-op multiplayer campaign style, the game is still going to provide hours of challenges, puzzles, and entertainment to our players.

We are expected to have a launch date announcement in the very near future (we’re talking late August!!) and it will be partnered with a full trailer. But note this, once the full game is launched the price will be increased! The current $7 USD price tag will only last as long as the Early Access is live and for those that get it during this time period, your game will simply update once the final build goes live!
